Last night was Lauren's (Ben's sister) birthday. About 3-4 months ago Ben thought it would be cool to get her Red Sox tickets. Pretty good brotherly move if you ask me.
Last night Jamula found out his friend had 20 extra Red Sox tickets for $25 each.
Well that's ironic don't you think? Its all of our first game of the year (except for Ben who went to a game earlier this year with Heather) and Joyce was trying to get a game where all of us could go but she bought them for a thursday when both Kim and I had class.
Turns out Alex couldnt go, Kim wanted to go but backed out (when she found out Kenny couldn't go) but Kayt and Heather jumped in feet first. Lauren was coming up from the Islands with Brian her boyfriend who didn't have a ticket either, so he got one. The whole escapade getting to the park, getting the tickets, finding out they weren't even together, getting in the park, finding seats together, losing the seats together, getting seperated, and then finally sitting down with a nice juicy sausage wasn't really appealing. Especially since I basically missed the first 3 innings.
Other than that the game was good. We only missed dice K going no hit and then giving it up in the 5th and John Lackey of the Angels only let up 1 hit so it was 0-0. Later Lackey made an error to let in two runs in around the 6th, Papi hit a homer right in front of us in the 8th and they scored another run to make it 4-0. Bard threw 99, 99, 100 in a row. Paplebomb came in even though they were up 4 (he must need the confidence booster because he let up a run). And the Sox still won.
Joyce and I sat together. Ben and Lauren had an empty seat next to them and Brian found his way over there when he "dissapeared" on Jamlua and Joyce. Matt ended up sitting in our original attempt to sit together seats with Heather and Kayt. It all worked out very nicely.
The wave got going pretty good. haha. I wonder hoe many times we do the wave on this trip. Stat #1 for Our "Fan Stats". More to come.
Come on. We are engineers. We gotta keep track of our numbers.
